    It’s Simple! It’s Easy. It’s Quick!
Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, As we all know, our beloved America is in dire straits. For years, we have all talked about and made many effo…
  • good afternoon,
It's a beautiful day in the Lord!!!

I am Martha Hafner of Vermont.  I've been praying daily since I was about 6.  For about the past 3 months I've been on the Tuesday Governor's Prayer Team.  What a joy!
Vermont has the dubious distinction of being one of the least evangelical and the most illicit drug users in the nation.  I believe in God's transformational grace.  I also believe in unity in the body of Christ and teaming together to make Ezekiel's dry bones revive and have new life with new wine skins.
As a teacher of 30+ years, I've long seen the brains of our youth as our most precious natural resource.  I now add - TO PROTECT.  For the past 3 years I've been attempting to lobby against the menace of marijuana.  The church has been asleep - not only on this concern, but also physician assisted suicide, and gay marriages.  Praise God the Vermont churches will rally on abortion concerns.  Today, our young people need this protection force, too.
The effects of today's high potency marijuana is harmful and the kids are making sport of seizing (having seizures.)  It doesn't just create shock waves in their bodies - the ripple effects mean - more drugs, crime, suicides, deaths, homelessness, psychotic breaks & mental illness, erosion of family, hospital and community finances.  It even destroys wildlife, pollutes our rivers & lands.
That's why the Surgeon General Jerome Adams and other national leaders unanimously voted to oppose marijuana legalization and commercialization just before Covid took the stage in a gathering in Tampa.

Smokescreen is a recently released video. It has great visual effects, expert & eyewitness testimonies and does a great overview of marijuana concerns that every state leader - church, educational, community & state government, and business leaders should be made aware.  Please watch Smokescreen or at least read the brief notations about it's different sections found in the one page attachment.  Then, please share it with others.  Our children need our protection.
Please join me in praying for Vermont.  The Vermont church still slumbers.  S54, the marijuana commercialization bill, has been picked up again and has plenty of votes to fast track it by legislators who are only listening to marijuana industry leaders while the voices of doctors, law enforcement and lobbyists are ignored.  S54 will bring pot shops across the street from our schools.  The vote will happen soon - perhaps before Labor Day.
PRAYER: Father, protect the brains of our youth.  We don't need more THC dabs to turn out the lights off on our youth or o
  • Great to know you’re getting on the Tuesday prayer line Wayne! I was born in New York but my mother was a Maryland native and our family relocated there in 1950. After going away to college and then Peace Corps I only spent a matter of months there after my father passed away, and then helped our mom move closer to my sisters in New England. I met my wife Chris in 1978 in Massachusetts where we lived until relocating to Utah. My webpages are on Facebook and at http://thejerescope.com. I hope I can get your email somehow so I can correspond more about my experiences in Maryland <teacheucratics@icloud.com>
